1. Scope of This Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the developer of Clean Alter ("Clean Alter," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the Clean Alter iOS application (the "App"). This Policy applies only to the App and does not govern Apple services, third-party applications, sharing destinations, or websites.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
Clean Alter does not require an account. We do not receive or store your photos, videos, video notes, photo library metadata, or app activity on developer-operated servers.
The current version of the App does not include third-party advertising, cross-app tracking, analytics SDKs, or app-managed cloud synchronization. We do not sell personal information or use your photo library to create advertising profiles.
3. Photo Library Access
Clean Alter requests access to your iOS Photos library only after you choose to grant permission. Depending on the permission you select, the App may access all media in your library or only the items you make available through limited access.
The App uses this access to display and play media, organize items by date and category, surface groups of memories, show favorites, and prepare items you choose to review for deletion.
4. Media Metadata
Clean Alter may process metadata supplied by iOS, including media type, creation date, dimensions, duration, location, favorite status, and Photos library identifiers. This information is used within the App to organize and present your library and is not uploaded to developer-operated servers.
5. Information Stored on Your Device
The App stores preferences and operational state locally on your device. This may include review settings, deletion statistics, pending item identifiers, favorite identifiers, memory review history, permission-related state, and notes you add to videos.
This local information remains on your device until it is changed by the App, removed by iOS, or removed when you delete the App. Removing Clean Alter does not remove photos, videos, favorites, or other information maintained separately by Apple Photos or iCloud Photos.
6. Favorites and Deletion
When you change a favorite, Clean Alter asks Apple's Photos framework to update the corresponding item in your Photos library.
Clean Alter does not delete media automatically. Items you mark remain pending until you review them and approve Apple's system deletion confirmation. After confirmation, recovery and retention are controlled by Apple Photos, iCloud Photos, your device settings, and any Recently Deleted functionality available on your device.
7. Sharing
When you choose to share a video, Clean Alter creates a local copy in the App's temporary storage and passes it to the iOS share sheet. The copy may remain in temporary storage until it is replaced, removed by iOS, or removed with the App.
Any service or person you select through the share sheet receives the media according to your choice. Their handling of shared media is governed by their own privacy practices.
8. Apple Services and Network Access
Clean Alter relies on Apple frameworks for Photos permissions, media access, iCloud-backed asset retrieval, sharing, favorites, and deletion confirmation. Media stored in iCloud may be downloaded through Apple services when network access is available. Apple's handling of information is governed by Apple's policies and your Apple account and device settings.
9. Your Choices and Controls
You may grant full or limited Photos access, change the items available under limited access, or revoke permission in iOS Settings. You can remove pending deletion marks before confirmation and decide whether to favorite, share, annotate, or delete any item.
10. Data Security
Clean Alter is designed to keep app-managed information on your device and to rely on iOS protections. You are responsible for maintaining appropriate device security and backups. No device or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11. Children's Privacy
Clean Alter is not directed to children under 13. Because we do not receive personal information through developer-operated servers, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App or applicable requirements change. The revised Policy will be published with an updated effective date.
